Our research is centered around genome-wide landscape of AR function. In this work, the group will delineate how AR-dependent gene networks are established in prostate and lung cancer cells and compare these networks to those regulated by glucocorticoid receptor.
The importance of cis-elements for collaborating transcription factors adjacent to chromosomal AR binding sites in Androgen signaling is also addressed. These factors, together with AR, are anticipated to form a regulatory hierarchy that governs androgen-dependent gene expression and cancer growth and offer potential new opportunities for therapeutic intervention. The group has considerable experience with ChIP-on-chip techniques and will soon start using ChIP-Seq approaches as well.
