Our research focuses on nuclear receptors, in particular the estrogen receptors (ERs) and liver X receptors (LXRs) and their relation to metabolic disease. We apply human genetics (ERs and LXRs as candidate genes) and functional genomics (in particular gene expression profiling) to approach the role of these receptors in the metabolic syndrome.
